IDocs are standard data structures in SAP, using which you can transfer data between various applications.This document covers the readiness setup for IDoc adapter configuration, design objects creation and finally configuration objects creation.
The order details need to be transferred to a vendor in csv (comma separated values) file format. Gateway Host: Enter the gateway host of ECC system (This is where program ID gets registered). Since the IDoc is going to be sent from ECC to PI system, an entry in outbound parameters ensures that the outgoing IDoc is correctly transmitted to PI Message Type: Message type of the IDoc being sent to PI. Output Mode: Transfer IDoc Immediately Transfers the IDoc to the PI system as soon as it is generated. Basic Type: The standard IDoc type that the message type is associated with. Association of basic type with message type can be checked in t-code WE82. Create a destination of type RFC as below: (This destination is used for importing metadata from an SAP system.) Name: XIIDOCDEFAULTDESTINATION Type: RFC Load Balancing: No (There will a slight difference in server parameters if there is load balancing enabled) Target Host: Host name of ECC system. Gateway host: Gateway host of SAP system (find the same in SMGW) Gateway service: Concatenate sapgw with system number. Go to NWA Configuration Infrastructure Application Resources Filter based upon Resource Adapters Search for inboundRA Go to tab Properties configure details as below: MaxReaderThreadCount: Enter a value between 5 10 (Default 0) GatewayService: Enter gateway service of SAP system (Same as entered in SM59) Gateway Server: Gateway host of the SAP system (Same as SM59) ProgramID: Enter the program ID entered in step 1. Local: false (This means that you are registering the program ID on a remote server, which is an SAP system in this case). If you see a green indicator before the resource adapter, it means you have correctly configured the same and is fully available. If you see the program ID in the column TP name, then there is a handshake between SAP ECC and PI system to transfer IDocs. All details to remain same as the ones entered in XIIDOCDEFAULTDESTINATION.
